Occupational Health Inspection 1

Occupational Health Inspection 1 : A visit by authorities or authorized persons, often medical doctors or nurses, to check and ensure that employers and workers observe occupational health legislation and standards. An occupational health inspection is used to inspect the workplace for cleanliness and hygiene, heat and dust, and other conditions that might endanger health and to inspect the physical condition of workers by medical check-ups. In some countries this kind of inspection is undertaken by specialists in the labour inspectorate; in others, it is undertaken by a totally separate inspectorate within the ministry of health.
