Operator 22 : The person or company, either proprietor or lessee, actually responsible for the drilling, completion and production operations of a well, and the physical maintenance of the leased property. Some of the specific functions (drilling, cementing, fracing, etc.) are frequently contracted to other service companies, but the operator retains ultimate responsibility
