(Med) Physically incapacitated by exposure to a fire environment. The state of unconsciousness or helplessness due to heat, smoke, toxic gases, exhaustion, or combination of factors. Note: The condition may develop in varying degree from a number of causes, including oxygen deprivation, carbon monoxide poisoning, breathing poisonous gases, and ingesting particulate materials contaminated with toxic substances. Withdrawal from reality due to psychologic stress may also occur
