Paraffin 8 : Heavier paraffin-base hydrocarbons often form a waxlike substance called paraffin. Paraffin may accumulate on the walls of tubing, flow lines and other production equipment, thus restricting the flow of well fluids to the extent that it must be removed. See Hot-Oil Treatment. (ITOGP)
