Pendulum, Translational :
A mass-on-spring pendulum (Figure 1, bottom) where the mass moves only along a linear translational path relative to the sensor's case (the mass and multiple constraining cantilever springs of a common geophone or a few MEMS devices in which multiple cantilevers and careful design obviate any effects of rotation). This design has minimum sensitivity to offaxis translational and rotational accelerations but is sensitive to Coriolis forces
