Percolation 01

Percolation 01 :

(1) The movement of water downward and radially through subsurface soil layers, usually continuing downward to ground water. Can also involve upward movement of water. (2) Slow seepage of water through a filter. Ground Water: The supply of fresh water found beneath the Earth's surface, usually in aquifers, which supply wells and springs. Because ground water is a major source of drinking water, there is growing concern over contamination from leaching agricultural or industrial pollutants or leaking underground storage tanks. Seepage: Percolation of water through the soil from unlined canals, ditches, laterals, watercourses, or water storage facilities
