Permeability 16
Permeability 16 : Quality of allowing a liquid or gas to pass through a material. Drops of water will leak through an unlined hose until it becomes impermeable through the swelling properties of the natural fibres (hemp or flax) used for the hose. Magnetic permeability - if a piece of iron is placed in a magnetic field the lines of force crowd through it. The permeability is a measure of this crowding. It also measures how much weaker the magnetic force is if it passes through a block of the substance
