Persistence 02 : (a) In Scorecard, persistence generally refers to environmental persistence: the length of time a chemical stays in the environment, once introduced. Persistent chemicals do not break down easily in the environment. Persistent chemicals (such as DDT and PCBs) are not easily broken down.
